Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordary Receives “Promoter of Justice Award”
The Central Ohio Rescue and Restore Coalition awarded Attorney General Richard Cordray with the first-ever “Promoter of Justice Award” during the coalition’s “Unlocking the Chains” conference. The award recognizes Corday’s involvement in the human trafficking issue through the creation of the Trafficking in Person Study Commission and his dedication to raise awareness, improve legislation and train law enforcement.

Research and Analysis Subcommittee Submits Report on Trafficking to Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray
Members of the Research and Analysis Subcommittee of the Ohio Human Trafficking Commission presented the report titled, “Ohio Trafficking in Persons Study Commission Research and Analysis Sub-Committee Report on the Prevalence of Human Trafficking in Ohio To Attorney General Richard Cordray.” The Research and Analysis Subcommittee was chaired by Dr. Celia Williamson of the University of Toledo. According to report estimates over 3,000 youth in Ohio are at-risk for trafficking and 1,000 are believed to be trafficked in Ohio.

Ohio Human Trafficking Study Commission Formed
Attorney General Richard Cordray hosted the first meeting of the Ohio Human Trafficking Study Commission. Researchers, social service agencies, advocates, prosecutors and law enforcement officials from around the state of Ohio were invited to participate. Commission goals are to understand how to increase law enforcement and investigation efforts to dismantle the organized enterprises.
