On September 27 and 28, 2007 Second Chance and One New Earth hosted My Real Name.  My Real Name was an artistic retelling of real stories of life in child sex trafficking.  Most of the stories presented were from Toledo, Ohio, which is a major hub for recruiting children into the sex industry.  The goal of the performance was to educate the community

about child sex trafficking and to raise money for Second Chance.  Many people attended to learn more about sex trafficking and to support Second Chance.  Opportunities were provided after the performance to speak to Second Chance Board Members and staff.  An opportunity was also provided to learn about anti-trafficking legislation in Ohio.

Community Roundtable

trade.  A variety of people have attended the roundtables from the beginning such as social service, criminal justice, and health care professionals, church members, survivors, and concerned citizens.  Tasks accomplished so far are in the areas of education and awareness, identification of

victims, prevention, early intervention, treatment, better prosecution of pimps/traffickers, and addressing the issue of “johns”.  The roundtable meets the last Thursday of each month at 2272 Collingwood Blvd. Toledo, Ohio 43620 from 11:30am-1:00pm.  All are welcome to attend.

During 2006 and so far in 2007 there have been community roundtables sponsored by Second Chance.  The purpose of the roundtables is to educate the community about prostitution and sex trafficking and to develop community responses to assist women and girls involved in the sex
